

Raphaël Coumes-Marquet was born in Besançon, France. He began his training at École de Danse de l’Opéra de Paris. Aspired to be a professional dancer since young, he received the Best Young Dancer from Dance Magazinein 1995.
Raphaël was with Ballett der Wiener Staatsoper and joined Les Ballets de Monte Carlo as a soloist. In 1998, he joined Het Nationale Ballet (Amsterdam) as coryphée and in 2000, he was appointed as grand sujet and promoted as a soloist in 2002. In 2006, Raphaël further advanced his career and joined Dresden SemperOper Ballett. Well-equipped with outstanding techniques and unity, Raphaël attained Outstanding Partnership with Esteban Berlanga in Faun(e) in 2009.
Raphaël has performed as the principal role for many productions include Prince Siegfried in Swan Lake, Albrecht in Giselle, Prince Florimund in The Sleeping Beauty, Prince/The Nutcracker in The Nutcracker, James in La Sylphide and many more.
Danced in various international galas and festivals, Raphaël performed in numerous countries like the U.S.A, Canada, Australia, Japan, Spain, England, France, Norway, Russia, Lithuania and Taiwan.
Raphaël created ballet choreography for the SemperOpernball Dresden in 2009 and 2010.
