Elisa Carrillo Cabrera

Elisa Carrillo Cabrera was born in Mexico. Since young, she began her training at the National School of Classical Dance in Mexico, and upon graduation in 1999, she continued her studies at the English National Ballet School.

Cabrera joined Stuttgart Ballett as a member of the corps de ballet in 2000. She was promoted to demi-soloist in 2004, and soloist in 2006. In the following year, 2007, she joined Berlin State Opera Ballet.

During 2004 to 2006, Cabrera achieved outstanding results from the National Classical Dance Competition in Mexico and was a recipient of the Bronze, Silver, and Gold medals.

Her involvement included performance like Kazimir’s Colours with Mikhail Kaniskin by internationally acclaimed choreographer, Mauro Bigonzetti. Her most recent success was in the title role in Angelin Preljocaj’s Snow White, with music by Gustav Mahler and costumes by Jean Paul Gaultier. Regularly invited to perform on the most distinguished stages around the world, along with Stuttgarter Ballett, Cabrera has performed in various countries like Paris, Japan, China, US, Korea, Italy, Kairo, Switzerland, Singapore, Hong Kong, Luxemburg.

Cabrera is currently the soloist in Berlin State Opera Ballet, she became Mexico’s first Prima Ballerina and a Cultural Ambassador for her country In May 2010.
