Dawn Ang’s work is reflective of her fascination with human consciousness and inner workings of the mind. Using the automatism as her guide, she explores the boundaries of reality, dream states and dementia, where she coalesces her conscious and subconscious. Hafizah Kasim references craft-making in local culture through these site-specific creations, reminiscent of dreamcatchers. In九9 IX, she adopts typical methods of crocheting and knitting, using yarn and wire to create illusions of varying depth and invite passers-by to look and linger. The ideas of femininity, wholeness, perfection, infinity and dreams are represented in these hanging circular works, indicating the completion of cycles.
