Curated by Singapore's Tammy L. Wong, Solos, Duets and the Vacant House presents innovative dance works by emerging choreographers and established artists from across the Pacific. In the title work, The Vacant House, award-winning choreographer Loretta Livingston looks at the ghosts and whispers of recall within human beings, and the themes of memory and departure, love and separation. Inspired by Livingston's research into Korean women writers, this dance features text by Shin Kyung-suk and Murielle Rykeser. Other choreographers include Mark Haim, Omar Olivas, Evan Gao Yu Wen, Melissa Quek as well as Wong. The varied programme reflects the different concerns and approaches of the choreographers, whether it is Quek's Breathe and Olivas's Respira, each with a different take on breath, life and living, or Haim's Goldberg Variations, which has toured internationally.

Performers include students from the LASALLE BA (Hons) dance programme, which provides an integrated learning experience in contemporary dance combining rigorous studio training with the study of ideas and expression from a fusion of Eastern and Western cultural perspectives. It seeks to challenge students' expressive, intellectual and physical capabilities through the practice of creative processes such as improvisation, choreography and performance, preparing them for professional careers as dance artists, educators and research-driven creators.
