Savour the vast palette of emotions and colours of flamenco in Sabores or "Flavours". Created by the brilliant and celebrated Sara Baras, it brings together myriads of styles or palos found in flamenco in a series of captivating dances, such as tango,
seguiriya, martinete, zambra, taranto, bulería and more, each with its own unique musical rhythm. The production can be described
as a "flamenco ballet" and stars Baras with her company of charismatic dancers and musicians as well as special guests José
Serrano and Luis Ortega.
Let your senses luxuriate in the passion and drama of flamenco traditions ingeniously sharpened by the sleek and stylish
choreography of Baras, who is also credited for the direction, lighting and costumes. A recipient of Spain's top award, the Premio
Nacional de Danza, she has been described as "sculptural", "fiery" and a "superstar". Known for her spontaneity, control and
spellbinding footwork, she will dazzle you with her exuberance and elegance. The critically acclaimed Sabores is a personal
homage to Baras's mother, Concha Baras who ran a dance academy in her hometown of Cadiz. In an evening of non-stop music, song
and flamenco, the sumptuous flavours of Sabores will leave you hungering for more!
Flamenco Workshop by Ballet Flamenco Sara Baras
